Mike Stevens’ Sharing Music with Indigenous Youth in ‘Joy’ Haven

Mike Stevens sharing music with youthOne of Stevens’ latest visits was to Gjoa Haven, Nunavut, which he says should be renamed “Joy” Haven, based on his experience.

Stevens traveled with three classically-trained musicians who taught the students the basics of how to play the fiddle. Together, they handed out 250 harmonicas and 12 violins to plant the seeds for a fiddle program.
