ArtsCan Circle travelled to Fort Albany and Attawapiskat in late January and early February 2017 with Metis Fiddlers Danton Delbaere-Sawchuk, Nicholas Delbaere-Sawchuk and Dancer/Storyteller Nicole Fougère.

In Fort Albany they facilitated arts workshops at the local primary and secondary school: Peetabeck Academy.

“When you guys are here, it’s like a different flavor, and it tastes yummy!” said community member Gabriel, aged five years, as he danced like an eagle, turtle, and polar bear and learned musical skills during an ArtsCan Circle workshop.

In Attawapiskat, they shared arts experiences with youth and community members at the local community centre, at the Parish Hall and at Vezina Secondary School.
